Zimbali
Zimbali Coastal Resort, Ballito

Zimbali

A private coastal estate north of Ballito, wrapped in indigenous forest and running down to its own stretch of shoreline. Almost everything here is inside the gate — golf, pools, padel, tennis, trails and restaurants — which is why families tend to arrive and not move the car for days.

Best for golfers, families who want everything inside one gate, and anyone who wants quiet.

Sport & leisure inside the estate

Most of what there is to do sits inside the estate, a few minutes from wherever you are staying. The Bushbuck Club is the hub for the sport; the Country Club runs the golf.

Beach & ocean

The estate has its own shoreline, and it is a beautiful walk in either direction. It is a coastline for walking and watching rather than swimming, so read the note below before you head down with the children.

Zimbali Beach

Coastal views, long walks and the sunsets this stretch is known for.

Whales & dolphins

Worth watching the water, particularly in whale season.

The Zimbali coastline is not generally a designated swimming beach. For swimming, use the nearby designated bathing beaches — Willard Beach and Thompson's Bay are both close.

Eat & drink

You can eat well without leaving the estate. Between the pools, the club and the two hotels there is everything from a poolside lunch to a proper dinner.

Valley of the Pools Restaurant

Breakfast, lunch, dinner and poolside meals with ocean views.

Bushbuck Club Cafe

Family meals and refreshments.

Beach Club

A relaxed beachfront setting at The Capital Zimbali.

Fig Tree Restaurant

Dining at the Zimbali Country Club.

The Capital Zimbali & Zimbali Lodge
